Description: Here I have an original 1889 Schmidt-Rubin without a scabbard. These bayonets had a rivet added sometime in the early 1900s to assist in retaining the bayonet within a scabbard and thus are referred to either an 1889/99 or 1889/18 bayonet depending on your source. This particular bayonet was manufactured by Neuhausen SIG and is in standard, surplus condition. The wood seems to be in good condition but there is speckling in the finish around the hilt. Construction is sturdy and this is meant to be used on the 1889 and 1911 rifles. Muzzle ring diameter is 15mm, blade length is right at 11.75", and overall length is 16.5". The latch works as expected and has had grease applied to keeps things moving with ease. As always, please inspect the photos provided as what you see is exactly what you will receive. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out.
