Antique Stanley Rule & Level Co. No5 Wood Plane USA Early Low Knob *Collectable*

Description: I have an early Stanley Rule & Level Co. No.5 low knob plane for sale. This plane is older with an early PAT dat OCT 21-84 on the lateral lever... it's an old guy with brass nuts and small brass adjuster. I has a front knob holds well and in good condition. The rear tote looks like a vintage replacement and looks stained to match the front knob, it is also in good condition and holds very well without movement. The lever cap looks original and is a keyhole style and has some wear on the edge. It works well..The lateral lever adjusts well, the frog is an older type that has no adjust forward aft screw.. The iron and chip breaker are also stamped and look original and correct. The iron still has some life left to use, however the length is short as it is at end of its use...The steel of the body looks darker and it could be polished if desired to improves it all over look. The japanning has a lot of wear from use and in missing in a lot of areas.This is a plane that could be cleaned up a little more and refinish the wood. It looks correct and is in good original condition. A very good one to restore and put in a collection... Harder to find in such good condition, an early era... a very nice useable plane that holds nice in the hand.Thank you.
