Made in England, circa 1947.The bottom stamp is slightly blurred, but reads“GENUINESTAFFORDSHIRE HAND PAINTEDSHORTER & SONENGLAND” The base is incised “SHORTER ENGLAND” This piece stands 6 inches tall and is 5 inches in diameter. The handle extends another 2".This biscuit barrel is in excellent condition, appears to have been displayed only. Colors are bright. There is some extremely fine crazing on the bottom, otherwise it is in near mint condition. No cracks, chips or repairs. This would make a terrific addition to any collection.
