Description: This is an exceptionally rare circa 1900 “Simplex” time recorder clock designed by EG Watkins for Heywood Wakefield Bro’s. This design was the first time / punch clock produced and holds several patents from the 1890’s (as pictured). It is enclosed in a beautiful cast iron case with a New Haven clock face. The clock is approximately 20” tall x 14” wide. In regards to the condition, the clock has some wear consistent with age and use. The clock time movement is not present, although the time recording mechanism is in the case (not sure if it is the complete mechanism or partial, see photos for the mechanism). The key for the lock is missing and there appears to have been a repair to the top of the casting.
