Description: ANTIQUE SILVER-PLATED BUTLER TRAY/SALVER JAMES DIXON & SON c.1900 This beautiful small tray was produced by the prestigeous silversmith James Dixon and dates to the late 19th/early 20th century.It is a round tray which would have been used to receive cards or to serve drinks. It has a raised, wavy, beaded edge adorned at intervals with small shell motifs. The body of the tray is elaborately chased with a complex design. The tray sits on 4 feet formed as bird claws grasping square 'balls'. It is in good condition with no loss of the silver plate although it does have a few small dings and blemishes. It is marked with the James Dixon maker's mark including the trumpet and EP. See pics.
