It can be opened wider but I think it would need to be heated to do so. It’s a super strong bracelet. This bracelet clearly shows that it has been worn. The outer edges of the rays are worn where they have rubbed against other bracelets. It only adds to its charm to know that it was really worn. It is an antique. This was purchased in Saudi Arabia about 30 years ago. I believe the designs are supposed to represent the rays of the sun, and it is a fertility bracelet. I don’t know if this is true, I found that from other sites that had similar items. It is very heavy. See the last photo with the weight on it. Please message questions before bidding.
