Description: For sale we have a nice pair or set of mid to later 1800's original tin handmade Pennsylvania Primitive farmhouse footed cheese molds or strainers. These nice early examples are fresh to the market and they are in untouched condition. These farmhouse primitive punched molds were purchased together at a Southeast Pa. auction and we feel they should be kept together. Both molds have three ring feet and a primitive punched hole pattern on the sides and bottoms. The ring feet are all complete and original. The top and bottom both have folded over tin edges along with a side rivet holding them together. We date these nice molds to the late Civil War era. The heights on both are approx. 3" and the openings approx. 4 3/8" respectively. The condition on both are used and in very nice aged condition. The patina on both examples are rich and have the look. There are no unintended holes or splits and no alterations or contemporary additions. We only see a solder separation on the one ring foot. There is some spotty oxidation in the one molds inside and outside punched hole area. The other mold a patch of oxidation on the top area of one. We pictured these areas and mention it for accuracy. These are very nice solid good looking Primitive Farmhouse mold or strainers examples in original untouched condition. These would make nice bookends on a early hearth, mantel or farmhouse table. This listing is for both molds or strainers. Thank you for viewing our auctions and listings and any questions please ask.
