Description: antique rooster weathervane on ball chicken. Wonderful old fellow here came from Maine originally where he stood for many years on a barn .probablymade in Massachusetts before being shipped to Maine . We date this to the last quarter of the 19th century . The bird stand 24” tall by 17.5” wide . Has a strong presence with his solid cast zinc legs . Show nice old wear and color. This vane has had like most vanes some old farmer repairs , bullet hole repairs etc . I am sure he has been guided many times not much of that shows at the present time . Nice for a collection or to have him stand on his own. Great for the kitchen , on top of a cupboard, on the wall with some friends , heck he could even be put back into service outside on the barn or in the garden !
