Description: Antique Religious Shadow Box Pieta Ceremony Box. It has a glass front with chalkware statue of the Pieta - Mary cradling the body of Jesus Christ. Below is a prayer: Blessed Be Thy Holy Name. The front does not open. It is similar to a viaticum for last rites but there are no candles or crucifix. Unsure if it is complete as there are two holes at the bottom of the frame which is painted off white. There is a wire and a hook on the back for hanging. Age of this shadowbox is unknown. It was found in a garage at an estate sale. Measures 23-3/4" high x 13-3/4" long x 3-3/4" from front to back and weighs 8 pounds unpackaged. The paper backing of the back of the shadowbox is torn and loose and some of the wood underneath is sloughing off. There is paint loss, scuffs and scratch marks on the wooden frame. The glass is intact with no damage. Being sold "AS IS."
