Description: I, for the life of me, cannot find what this unique and interesting piece is, so I will give you it's history. I found it at an estate sale, where the sale was full of antique, valuable items. This particular item was proudly displayed on the desk of the gentleman who had owned the home. Unfortunately, the daughters who were hosting the sale could give me no insight on the item, and Google couldn't either. Please notice the hairline crack across the lid (still secure, however). Also, two screw holes, apparantly original to the piece, exist on the lid. Lid is lined with blue felt, which may not be original to it. My best guess due to size and design was a wheel hub for a stagecoach or top-of- the-line carriage. Please see pics for further description and condition.
