Description: RARE ANTIQUE CIRCA 1880's QASHQAI SHEKARLU TRIBAL CARPET W/ANIMAL MOTIFS 5'2" x 7' 9" CIRCA late 1800's size : 5'.2" x 7'.9" Rug is slightly crooked as seen. This is a fabulous piece in quite a large size. Photos were taken in direct sunlight and appears much brighter than what it appears in no light or inside under very little light . A very flexible piece with an all wool foundation and a wool pile. Fine weave for this type of rug. Shows abrash in the field. Ends have been overcasted. The pile is fairly even and very low (never was a thick rug) to the knot heads. So the rug does shows allover wear. There is a little foundation showing, mostly by the animal motifs. A few small. crude repairs and one 6" slit (showing in photos) at one end that was sown and now coming loose. Selvages are mostly OK with minor unraveling. Natural colors that all seem to be fast. This rug is fresh to the market. Great investment piece. Photos were taken outside in full sunlight. LAST FEW PHOTOS ARE OF OUR GALLERY OF ANTIQUES AND RUGS.
