Description: Rare and hard to find in this condition: I have a late 1920’s tin, lithographed, “Mechanical Tin Wind-Up Swimming Duck” that was manufactured by Lindstrom Tool & Toy Co. from Bridgeport, Connecticut. The company was organized in 1913. Lindstrom made mechanical toys and games of lithographed pressed steel and tin. These items included a child’s phonograph, boats/ships, animals, vehicles, stoves, sewing machines, film projectors, and notably amusement-park-type vehicles such as the “Skeeter Bug” bumper car, etc… Lindstrom stopped production in the early 1940's due to World War II but picked back up for a few years following the end of the War. This one is in very good condition with only very small paint wear (see pics). This wind-up works well. I wouldn’t wind it up more than one complete revolution, just to keep it from over-winding and possibly breaking the spring as many old wind-ups do. I initially wound it up four times with no problem. The video shows the duck wound up only one revolution with the key. The metal webbed feet open and close enabling the duck to move forward in the water. You can also make an offer. It will be packaged with great care. Priority mail will include insurance. .
