Description: This stunning antique vase is very characteristic of the Majolica style. The exact age of the piece is unknown but it is visually consistent with other examples from the late 1800s to early 1900s. This particular piece is footed with two handles and stands at a height of 5.5 inches. One side is adorned with a handpainted ornate floral motif, beautifully colored with pinks, purples, yellows, and greens upon a blue and white background with flecks of gold accents throughout. The other side is painted an earthly green color that is very typical of pieces of this style. The intricate detailing of this vase is so gorgeous, the flowers and leaves are raised, and you can feel the craftsmanship when you hold it. This vase bears the marker “743”, which was etched into the bottom before it was fired. There is some crazing and imperfections that are typical of an antique ceramic piece such as this. This vase is the perfect size to hold a small arrangement of flowers and would be a perfect addition to any room.
