Description: Original antique black and white Ordnance Survey map from circa 1907 of Burton, Staffordshire and its environs, engraved and published by the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton. Scale 1" to one statute mile. The map key and scale are printed along the bottom border of the map. The map of Burton and the surrounding areas, such as Abbots Bromley and Uttoxeter, was originally surveyed in 1878-82 and published by Colonel Sir C W Wilson, Director General in 1889, revised in 1905 and published by Colonel R C Hellard, Director General in 1907, the 3rd Edition of the map. Dimensions: Approximately 24" x 18" (600 mm x 450 mm), including borders. Condition: Very good condition for a map that is approximately 116 years old. Some markings to the paper, one minor tear to the top border but no significant creasing. No print on the reverse side. Please look carefully at the photographs of the map. Will look superb mounted and inserted in a frame of your choice. Please note: This is an original antique Ordnance Survey map and is not a modern copy.
