Description: Item Description: This large antique oil painting catches your interest quickly, telling a story of another time when Turks were still wearing the red fez and enjoyed smoking with long pipes. This painting looks to date to the late 1800s - early 1900s. This painting is signed, the spelling looks to be Bela Havasdy, but is a little difficult to make out. The canvas measures 36" tall by 28" across. With frame, it measures 41 3/4" by 33 3/4". There are some condition issues - there is a slit and a smaller slit in the canvas near the right top. There are also some dents in the area of the upper left. There is also a scratch in the paint between the Maid from the area of her waist to the older Turk. The gold painted wooden frame is in good condition.
