Description: ANTIQUE SHIPS WHEEL CIGAR CUTTER This is a great little thing. It is actually a novelty cigar cutter in the form of an old ship’s wheel mounted on a shaped timber base. To use it you turn the wheel until it is in the open position at the top, put in the end of your cigar and turn the wheel again to engage the cutter to snip the end off your cigar which wouldcome out though the hole in the base. It dates to the late 19th or early 20th century and the surface of the metal has oxidised now with time so I don’t think the cutting action would be that great anymore but it is such an exact miniature mounted ships wheel it just appeals as a decorative item or if you have a pond yacht it could be a fabulous authentic looking wheel for a larger model boat. CONDITION In good antique condition showing some signs if any of age and use i.e. the oxidisation of the metal. We haven’t cleaned it in any way and should come up with a wash at least and a bit of oil all over should do wonders. DIMENSIONS It measures approximately:- 6.7 cm (2 /16“) across the wheel from one handle to opposite handle. 10.1 cm (4“) high with a handle pointing up. Wooden base is 4.2 cm (1 5/8”) across It weighs approx:- 128.5 grams >>>>>>1137<<<<<< We guarantee our descriptions are accurate and our prices competitive.
