Description: Wooden Weaving Loom Temple1827 Initials SJD Carving Antique Norwegian Norway Folk ArtA kind Ebay member msg me with the name and function of the temple. A temple was used to stretch the warp at the salvedges so the fabric retained the same width throughout. It is missing the pins at the ends of the temple. Measures 1 7/8 in wide and 24 in long and 9/16 in thick Sweet etching decorates the length with the date and initials included. At both ends is a nice floral etching. --I am not familiar with this enough to know if the metal is to provide strength to a handmade wooden tool that is very old, of if it was part of the original construction. --A very nice example of early Scandinavian life tools. ***Please look at all the photos, zoom in and msg me if there are more photos or information you might need. Please send me any questions you may have as I very well could miss something that is important to you. I try to show as much as I can in photos but will take more if you need them.
