Description: This fun piece is either from the late 1800's or early 1900's I believe. It was a bit of travel memorabilia that one would have purchased in Paris while visting Napoleon and Josephine's home the Château de Malmaison. The book contains 8 photos which depict Napoleon and Josephine, the exterior of the home and pictures inside the home. This piece has been in my family since it's purchase and I was always fascinated with it as a kid! I had always thought the "book" cover and back were sterling but upon photographing it and noticing the brassy color that seems to be a bit peeking through I think it must be silver plate. The delicate latch that closes the book still works perfectly, the hinges are in great shape, you can see that most the hinges are a brassy color. A few of the book pages are coming up a bit, I tried to take plenty of photos to illustrate this. Unfortunately the last two pages of the book stuck together at some point and the photos got a bit damaged, see last two photos for details. The book measures approximately .8" x .10", see photos with calipers for the exact dimensions.
