Description: Dating from around 1900 this French vanity box has a lid covered with metallic lace trimmed with a garland of small, multicolor, silk ribbon flowers and green ombre leaves with a centerpiece of metallic edged silk flowers. The lace is banded by metallic braid. Around the sides is a delicate lace skirt topped with yet another gold metallic braid. The box is lined inside and out with blue silk. The box is strong and in good usable condition with all the laces intact. Has some stains inside and the bottom. In spite of these minor conditions, the box is gorgeous. Size: 7 1/2" x 6 1/4" wide 2 1/2" deep The box has been well-preserved and it is in a good condition so would be great addition to any antique collection. The silk ribbonwork flowers perfectly complement the metal lace and add a softness to the overall design.
