Hundreds of towns both old and brand new are noted throughout the map as are forts and other points of interests such as mine shafts, natural desert springs, some of the nation's earliest National Parks, and in the Dakota Territory, "the hill where the Crows were killed." In the lower right is a large inset map of the mid-Atlantic and southern New England States depicting the railway system in greater detail. Below this are several other small inset maps featuring the growing cities of Boston, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, New York, St. Louis, Chicago, Buffalo & Niagara Falls, and Washington D.C. A compass rose decorates the space in between. Condition This map in B condition issued folding now flattened with some minor toning and splitting along some of the fold lines that have been reinforced on the verso.
