Description: 'Mexique' by Auguste Henri Dufour 1860 Steel engraved map with hand line colouring. August Henri Dufour (1798-1865) was a Paris based cartographer active in the middle to late nineteenth century. He published a range of atlases, both contemporary and historical. He published and printed in his own name and worked with a number of printing houses across Paris. This map is taken from an atlas of modern and ancient geography printed by Louis Antoine at 70 Rue des Noyers in about 1860. Antoine had printed a number of atlases for Dufour including his 'Atlas Universal' and these maps used Dufour's masters. Page size is 34.5cm by 26cmMap area is in good condition for age, engravings are clear. Some foxing and stains.Blank on the reverse.See photos for condition All the maps I sell are originals.
