Description: This is a fantastic olde early lighting make do candle holder that I got from Cheryl Jones at Cabin In The Woods of Michigan a few years ago when she still had a booth at Homestead Antiques in Angola. She has had several features in Jill Peterson's Simple Life publications over the years that are a great reference to her prim taste and talent and if you ever get a chance to visit her shows she does at her log cabin homestead in Michigan you should go. If you know her primitives you know they are always wonderful like this one is. The base is a thick heavy chunky attic finish hand turned wood piece with a colonial design. I'm not sure what it was used for originally but it suits this candle holder quite well. Please take time to study the pics for more details and know it's MUCH better in person than I could ever explain here. This sweet primitive make do treasure measures about 10 inches tall not counting the candle. It's a bit over 3 inches wide on bottom. The antique beeswax tallow candle is a very olde one from the late 1800's that I added to burn when I used this holder for some living history events and it measures about 7 inches long and it's included in this sale.
