Description: This lovely antique teacup and saucer set are marked L S & S co Carlsbad Austria. L Straus & Sons - New York City, New York (USA) 1869. L Straus & Sons (LS&S) was founded in New York City by Lazarus Straus in 1869, as importers of fine porcelain. In 1924 it became Nathan Straus & Co, and in the 1930's it closed. So this teacup and saucer dates to 1869- 1924. It was produced in Carlsbad, Austria during the Victorian - Edwardian era. The porcelain pieces are hand painted with delicately tinted pink, blue and yellow flowers and scroll work in gold trim and is numbered by the artist. Similar in production area and process as Haviland Limoges and Meissen This antique set has been well cared for and is in excellent condition. It should be hand washed only. There is no visible damage. No cracks or crazing and has not been repaired.
