Used for clothing and accessories but best known for hats shoes and purse … the BRONZE MOLD makes leaf impressions on leather, silk, felt and other fabric that takes impressions well… The story behind this from the owner (75 years old) that I purchased it from a number of years ago is that her father bought out estates and old business in Jersey City when she was a teenager … this one and hundreds others came from a Floral Factory that was in downtown Jersey City … they were made of Iron, Brass and Bronze…. He kept a few dozen bronze pieces and gave to clients as gifts … tops were used as paper weights and bottoms trinket dish or ashtray… He kept a few favorites for himself and his family… He used this for smoking cigars…. I am sure it could clean up better but I think the patina is exceptional…
