Description: Antique Kienzle Black Forest Westminster Chime Clock ~ Oversized Mansion Style Click images to enlarge Description Visit My eBay Store View My Other Items For Sale This great looking clock was made by the Kienzle Clock Factory in the Black Forest Region of Germany, right around 1914. It has a very complicated (signed Kienzle) movement that appears mechanically sound and complete. After winding the clock and setting it on a level surface we find that it runs and chimes well, with amazing sounding chimes. However, this is only an observation. We have not serviced this clock and are selling it as found, as is. The case is still in the original finish, which is in nice condition for its age, showing the types normal wear and handling marks as would be expected to occur over time. This is another well cared for clock that probably spent its earlier days in a mansion or some other prominant dwelling. As seen in the pictures, this is a very impressive looking clock. It is a bit oversized, measuring 23" long x 11 ¼" high x 8 ½ " deep. In case you are not familiar with Westminster Chimes, these are the ones that play a tune every 15 minutes; 4 notes on the quarter; 8 notes on the ½ hour; 12 notes at the ¾ hour; and then the full 16 note tune on the hour, followed by the hour toll, i.e. 1 toll at 1:00, 2 tolls at 2:00, etc. The larger 6 ½" dial, brass bezel and glass crystal are also in nice condition. This clock comes complete with a key and the original pendulum.
