HERE WE HAVE: A vintage cast iron, mechanical coin bank! Marked on the bottom with "PATENTED JUNE 23 1896". I don't see any maker's marks on it. I think the bank depicts William Tell? When you pull back on the slider on the barrel of the gun and place a coin in front of it then press down on the shooter's foot, he "shoots" the coin toward the bank (I couldn't get the coin in the slot in 4 tries though!).I think this is an older piece, but I'm not sure how to tell if it's an original piece or not. *1/30/24* CONDITION: Acceptable condition for presumed age! The mechanical function is working, although I tried shooting a penny in multiple times and I couldn't actually get it into the slot! I don't know if the paint is all original. There are spots of discoloration, scuffs, scratches, and color loss throughout. Some dust buildup in the crevices. Please see photos!
