Description: This listing is for an antique yellow & blue metal tin Purim Grogger with an illustration of Mordecai & Queen Esther on the front with a Hebrew quote from the Scroll of Esther. Below it says in English "MORDECAE QUEEN ESTHER". The top is yellow, the bottom and the handle are blue. The Hebrew quote at the bottom is "ליהודים היתה אורה ושמחה וששון" or translated to English "The Jews had light and joy and gladness". From Chapter 8 Verse 16 of the Book of Esther. The Hebrew quote at the top reads "ויהי בימי אחשורוש" or in English "And it came to pass in the days of Achashveros". It is from Chapter 1 Verse 1. This noisemaker has a plastic handle, and itmeasures 4" across x 15/16" deep. It is in wonderful condition for a children's noise maker. There are a couple of small dings and light scratches, but it doesn't appear to have been used very much. Please see the photos for more detail.
