Description: This is an antique Japanese chemistry textbook from the mid Meiji era (c. 1882). It was published in September in the 15th year of meiji (1882). Edited by Roscoe and translated by Seizaburo Ichikawa. All pages are made by using wood block prints. Hand bound (see picture 16). This book contains some 100 of these hand printed pages. Despite its age, the calligraphy and pictures are still very clear, and the pages turn easily. This book has been in storage for nearly 100 years and, despite a few worm holes on the first few pages (see pictures 8 & 9) it remains in very good condition. The book measures 5 3/4" wide by 8 3/4 " tall (14.5 x 22).
