Description: Antique Ice Skates - Wood - Steel Blades - Leather & Ribbon Straps - Late 1800s Here is a pair of antique speed ice skates made in the Netherlands in the late 1800s - early 1900s. The skates are made of light color wood and feature steel blades and leather and ribbon straps. The blades measure 12-1/2-inches long and extend on both ends past the 11-1/4" long wooden platform. The wood is boot-shape, and the surface has a 3/8" step down for the heels. Leather straps at the heels (possibly not original) and leather and ribbon straps at the toes. No markings - brand and exact age are unknown. They are in as-found condition and have not been cleaned. Sold As-Is. Condition: See photos.
