Antique Homan Mfg. Co. (1847-1941) Silver Plate Dish, Pierced Drainer

Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely silver plate dish with removable drainer made by the Homan Mfg. Co. The dish has an embossed design around upper edge with decorative handles and an embossed design on the front and back. There is also a lift out footed drainer with pierced decoration. Marked on base "Louisiana, Homan Plate on Nickel Silver, W. M. Mounts, Made in USA, 0981". The Homan Mfg. Co. was in business in Cincinnati OH from 1847-1941. W. M. Mounts (white metal mounts) is a generic mark used by many firms indicating that the applied decoration (handles, etc.) is made from cast white metal. Measures 8 3/4" high (at sides), 9 1/4" wide and 7 1/2" in diameter (at sides). Weighs 1.9 pounds. This nice dish and drainer are in very good to excellent Estate condition with no damage or repairs. There are a few faint streaks/spots in the finish from normal wear, however, overall it has a great appearance. These minor spots may polish out with a little more "elbow grease" than I gave it when polishing.
