Description: CONDITION: Excellent, without defects of any kind. This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Grainger Worcester between 1876 and 1889. The saucer measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter and is 1 inch deep. The cup is 2 3/8 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/4 inches. The set is made of fine, porcelain of ivory coloring. The cup has 2 layers of porcelain, the outer layer being finely pierced or reticulated. The handle is pierced as well. The saucer is one layer of porcelain with identical reticulation. The cup fits into a recessed well so that it does not slide off of the saucer. This is known as a “Trembleuse” or trembler’s cup and saucer. The set has gold accents and trim.
