Description: A 19th century etching "Ya es Hora", Plate 80 from Goya's "Los Caprichos" series. It's a nice rich black ink impression. It is printed on thick soft paper measuring 12" by 8 1/6".The plate measures 8 3/8" by 5 7/8" inches. Francisco de Goya y Lucientes, Spanish, 1746-1828. Printed in 1799, Los Caprichos was the first work Goya produced for sale as a single set. In 1803, Goya relinquished the plates to Charles IV, in return for a pension for his son. The plates remain with the Calcografia Nacional and have been used for restrikes over the years.
