Description: Antique Georgian Mahogany Knife Box with Original Brass Lock and Working Key Please Note: The Box has original brass hardware for the lock, handle and original hinges with a couple missing screws. The key and lock work perfectlyThere used to be brass handles but they are absent leaving some discoloration and filled in holes.There has been some restoration done to the banding There is some splitting in the wood in some places from age and cannot be repairedThe one side does not close all the way, even when the lock has been closedThere is an old restoration done to the inside; a panel has been put in about half way, closing off the bottom portionThe inside inlay on the star is made from Ebony and bone inlays.Please see my other boxes!
