Description: ~ Welcome to William Sharpe Antiques ~ Here today for your consideration we have this superb Georgian sterling silver teapot, made by James Barber & William Whitwell of York, c-1820. The teapot stands atop four ball feet and features a gadrooned rim and flush hinge, being of very good quality and gauge throughout. Condition is good used, with a few minor bumps throughout and some disruption to the tip of the spout evident. The original timber handle is without movement, and the silver finial has a minor split but is otherwise in good order. The teapot is monogrammed to the base, with the hallmarks about 50% overall (fading). A beautiful Georgian teapot with the seldom seen York assay.
