Description: I suspect this late 1800s table was used for when extra company was over for dinner because it was designed to be stored using as little space as possible. I had hopes of stripping it but never happened. The wood top is not one piece of wood but strips of solid wood slats butted together. Reminds me of hardwood flooring boards. It isn't heavy enough to be oak more like walnut or hickory. When completely folded up it is wobbly, but when gate legs are open supporting it, it is relatively stable. Even if you used a tablecloth instead of refinishing it, it would make a very charming office or eating table. Very unusual tapered legs, well made by some immigrant no doubt. Never saw another one like it online. Even just using a palm sander on the top to refinish it would greatly improve it's appearance. When closed measures 11" x 29" x 36", when fully open top measures 36" x 40", weighs 35 lbs 4 oz. You can fully examine it and if you are not totally thrilled with it up close you can cancel the sale on the spot. It folds up to fit in any hatchback. I may also have for sale 4 similar period chairs. More furniture can be seen under "see other listings". Best suited for folks familiar with restoration of antique furniture.
