Description: Antique French Silver Mounted Glass Claret jug. France, circa 1890. This is a PRETTY and ANTIQUE French silver-mounted ( 950 purity ) decanter. A very beautiful rock crystal inserted, with engraved decoration of flowers all over . Totally in the Art Nouveau ( or Rococo ) style and period. A Rococo style and taste French silver, stamped in multiple areas by the Minerva Head French mark, with number 1 ( 950 purity of silver ), and with a diamond ( lozenge ) hallmark, with letters ED.T ( a well known French silver maker, Edmond Tetard 1880-1903 ). Hinged lid, nicely decorated with flowers. With monogram to the front ( see photos ). Engraved number underside V 5457. Please see photos carefully to admire the beauty of the work.
