Description: Lovely antique French faience 2pc 8 3/8" cabinet plate pair, Legros d'Anizy & die stamped Creil marks with pale yellow borders and sheet music or musical text/scene centers entitled "Les Frelons" & "Avriel"! One of three yellow bordered sets that we're adding this week, another pair and a larger set of four and they all look lovely displayed together. This set with maker marks for Legros D'Anizy and die stamped or impressed marks on the backs that read "Creil". The marks read "Medaille d'Argent, Par Brevet D'Invention Et De Perfectionnement, Manuf. d'Expression sir Faience Porcelaine a Procede de L'Invente au Legros D'Anizy, Paris, Exposition de 1819". A lovely pair and wonderful figural scenes! Very good condition. Some slight discolorations and surface scratching, also some crazing to the glaze. There are a few tiny rim marks or nips visible but nothing really to detract from their overall visual & decorative appeal. See pictures for all measurements.
