Description: Description Antique French hand painted porcelain portrait plaque of a beautiful lady dressed in black with white lace collar. Painted in small brushstrokes by a skilled hand to render every fine detail, even to the lashes fringing her green eyes. Her dark hair is swept up and falls in a cascade of curls at her shoulders. Accented with raised white enamel on the lace and pearl earring. Signed E. Yvetot. Possibly for Madame Elina Yvetot (Active 1870-1878). Porcelain pieces of her work can be found at the Musée national de la Céramique Adrien Dubouché in Limoges. Housed in an old hand crafted wooden frame, likely original, with folding easel for table top display. There is an old label under the easel, partially worn, and appears to be in French, perhaps of the name of the sitter and a date. In overall good condition with general wear. No chips or cracks to the porcelain. Painting is in very good condition and colors are beautiful. Some wear and age to the wooden frame, one screw missing from the back corner as shown, a portion of the wood easel repaired. Frame measures 13 1/4" x 10 3/8" About Us Welcome to the Antique Boutique. Our aim is to provide you with a wide selection of quality antiques and collectibles.
