Antique Engraved Monogram Initial F Locket Heart Dangle Long Pendant Necklace

This unique double-strand necklace features a fancy locket engraved with the letter "F" and a heart dangle hanging from a chain, also engraved with the letter "F." The uniqueness of the necklace comes from a non-movable slide enveloping the four strands of chain at the back of the necklace. An additional oddity is a non-movable Albert clip above the slide, which is stamped "D&C." The clip does open so a charm or pendant could be clipped on, but it would be hanging at the back of the neck. I believe the necklace originated this way from the factory. The round locket is trimmed in an ornately chased border and another beaded circle around the smooth shiny center where the "F" is engraved. The dangle with a centered heart is also engraved with an Old English "F." A fine beaded edge outlines the heart. The locket door opens up and inside has a hand-engraved "22" on each side. Sometimes, not always, the craftsman will engrave a number, either Arabic or Roman, to designate the year of manufacture. Although at first the necklace appears to be Victorian, the various design elements seem to point to 1922.
