Description: Antique English John Grinsell & Sons Biscuit Barrel w/ Porcelain Liner 1871-1905. This is a fantastic piece of history! Put fresh flowers in it and showcase this beauty. The approx. measurements are; 4-7/8" in diameter (opening) and 5-1/2" in height (w/o handle). NO lid and barrel it split, BUT you know and have the history of this great piece (read below). Something told me to take this guy apart, so I did. Surprise... there laid underneath the porcelain insert was a small but large piece of information which leads to the history of this fantastic piece (see photos 12 & 13). Based on my research (I am no expert) and putting all the pieces together, this was a John Grinsell & Sons piece. His mark on the bottom of the porcelain insert was registered in 1879 (see info in photo 14). Their name changed in 1871 and in 1905 (again, see photo 14). So, this leads me to believe that this English barrel was made between those years. I will be including this torn piece of history and the brown paper that were found so you too can carry the history along. I feel my price is fair based on this information. Listing is for the Antique English John Grinsell & Sons Biscuit Barrel w/ Porcelain Liner 1871-1905 only, as all other objects are for prop use. Please ask questions before bidding/purchasing as I do not accept returns. If a return is initiated and required by eBay, I will refund money ONLY after receiving item(s) back.
