Description: Collectible and quite rare, early 19th century Staffordshire, pearware waste bowl in “Strawberry” pattern, England. Measures approximately 6.25” wide and about 3.25”H. Early to mid 1800s. The bowl features pearlware/earthenware cream colored body and strawberry with green leaves pattern. This pattern is mentioned in the “Collectors Encyclopedia of English China” on page 53. This bowl is a great example of early English ceramics - Georgian period. Unmarked, however had an impressed half moon mark which could indicate several different factories, including Worcester etc. Condition; sold As Is due to notable crazing and discoloration, chips on the foot, as well as wear to decorations. Other than that there are typical firing imperfections, some yellowish discoloration. Wear to decorations, glaze and enamels, wear and blemishes around the rim and the foot. No large chips noted on the rims. Use related marks and scratches. Dark spots/iron deposits. All wear corresponding with age, this bowl is around two hundred years old and wear is expected.
