In addition to publishingatlases, A. K. Johnson also published and sold the Universal Cyclopaedia,which included copperplate engraved maps that were then hand-colored, differentfrom the maps published in his atlas, adapted to the size and needs of theencyclopedia. Quite attractive in their own right, they frame quite well, inpart because of their smaller size. Size: two-page folded map, 13.5 x 10.75 inches (about 1inch margin all around) Condition: Excellent condition, center fold line as issued,paper lightly age toned, no marks of any sort, very attractive light pastelcoloring, great for framing.
