They depict an abstract dragon with an opened mouth. They are made of very heavy bronze from the 19th century (1850-1899)“There are over 500 ethnic tribal people in Indonesia of which the Dayak Iban Kenyan of Kalimantan are formerly head-hunters. Ear ornaments cast of brass were signs of power and prestige. Women and some men wore the weighty earrings as ear pendants to stretch the ear lobes beyond the shoulders. Elongated earlobes of Dayak peoples are believed to be a channel for spiritual energy. It is thought that longer earlobes enhance one's connection to the spiritual realm and provide protection from malevolent spirits.”They have been in climate controlled storage since acquired.
