Description: This lovely little Satsuma Sugar Bowl with lid comes from the Meiji Period ( late 19th c to early 20th c.) Beautiful shades of iron red, green, white and pink are used in hand painting the flowers that adorn this little beauty. Bamboo style green handles and lid knob add to the artists design. There is a solid green line around the bottom just above the raised foot. A colorful wreath surrounds the top of the bowl to tie into the design on the top of the lid. Measures: 3 3/4" T (with lid) x 4 1/2" Diameter (handle to handle) Mark: Kinkozan in red by side of handle. This piece has been in a private collection for well over 30 years and will make a wonderful addition to any pottery collection. TP 13
