Patent Dates embossed on the topper/stopper are Mar. 27 1906 & Oct. 27 1908. Patent countries include Germany, France, Australia, Great Britain, Japan, Russia and Austria. The topper/stopper appears to be brass. Not 100% sure but the color is why we feel it's brass. It's in overall good condition considering it's over 100years old and it's use. No unsightly damage or defects were found during our inspection. It has light scuffs, scratches and discoloration from it's age, use and handling. The topper/stopper functions as expected.
