Description: 1800s Antique Coffee Tin Advertising Can Sherman Bros Chicago IL. So I did a bit of research and the earliest reference I can find for this company is 1870 and the latest is 1906. That what is so amazing about turn of the century advertising. Everyone was doing the own personal branding. This is not your typical coffee can. This is a large counter display that has a hinged lid and was fresh served out of. I can not trhin kof anywhere you would have had this other than the original store location or at the very least local to Chicago at the time. 20"x 13 1/2"x 13 1/2" This one has more that one layer of graphics on it. They are the same company and period but you can tell the graphic under is a bit different. The top graphic has started peeling off and over time some of the torn piece have made it In the time for safe keeping. The bottom is rusted but the inside is in nice condition. Again I believe the 2 layers lends to the belief that it was a local piece. How it ended up In Cheyenne Wy. would be a great story. I can not find anything close to it is size and style so it is a very Rare piece to say the least. It's big and shipping is still free.
