Antique circa 1920s Sterling Silver Filigree Art Deco Dragon's Breath Ring 5.25

Description: This is a fine example of a Dragon's Breath stone. This antique Art Deco ring was made in the 1920s. The ring (approximately size 5.25) features a stunning open back glass cabochon Dragon's Breath stone with beautiful color and fire. The stone takes on a different look depending on the lighting. It goes from a translucent rosy orange color to a bluish purple "fire" where the stone takes on the "fire" of the Dragon. This is why open back DB stones are highly desirable. The inner band is marked Sterling. **I found this description online. It's a perfect description of the stone: "Dragon's Breath stones were made by adding metal to molten glass. This is what gives it the electric blue and purple flashes or ripples inside the stone. The stone is usually seen in an oval or round cabochon shape (rounded and smooth top), but you will see other shapes. The stone is un-foiled and transparent. Then depending on the angle that you view it, there is an inner fire of beautiful streaks of electric blues and purples that seem to just levitate inside the glass. At some angles you can see more of the blues and purples. Other angles you may see only small amounts and again at other angles you may see none.
