Description: Offered for sale is a lovely set of two unusual Chinese Qing Dynasty embroidered silk scent/pouches. The embroidery is done in tiny stitch on what appears to be a linen ground.The pouches are in very good condition, commensurate with age. with no damage to embroidery or background. One of the tassels is missing from one pouch. There is some slight soil on the background (see photos). Pouches such as these were often given to high ranking officials in appreciation for their service. They were also carried by wealthy men, as one or a pair of nine belt hangings, traditionally part of the Qing Dynasty gentleman’s formal attire.
