Description: Presented is a lovely antique high karat gold and jade necklace, dating to around the 1920s-1930s and likely of Chinese origin, or possibly otherwise southeast Asian. The chain is a beautiful design with little hearts and half domes interspersed with the round links. The pendant is set with an octagonal piece of gorgeous rich spinach green jadeite jade, verified by our certified gemologist. The setting is an ornate filigree openwork design, with a nice element of movement due to how it is suspended from a larger frame, with a floral filigree element at the top, very nice work all around. The vibrant jade is complemented wonderfully by the rich yellow of high karat gold, at least 22 karat in purity. This piece is in excellent condition. The chain has no kinks or breaks. The clasp is working well and closes securely. The jade is well set with no chips. Both the chain and the pendant are nitric acid tested and guaranteed at least 22 karat gold. The clasp is a modern replacement, marked 585 for 14 karat gold. The total length is about 17 inches. The pendant is about 1 1/2 inches long (including the bail) by 3/4 of an inch wide. This necklace weighs 8.9 grams total. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
