Description: Antique Charles Martin (?) Limoges France Hand Painted 9.5" Dinner Plate Poppies Basket This antique Porcelain plate is a beautiful addition to any collection. The plate measures 9.5 inches in diameter and features a hand-painted Poppies basket in its center surrounded by a wide gold band with filigree floral design. The plate has no backstamp nor is the painting signed. The plate is one of a set of four plates with the same design but different flowers in the baskets. Three of the four plates were marked by artists from Limoges France, one by decorator Charles Martin Limoges France whose stamp shown on that plates dated from between 1906 to 1935. The other two plates have stamps from Martin Freres, same date lines. It appears that the set had two plates of Martin and two of Freres, but we are not sure about it. The last three pictures of this listing are showing the Charles Martin plate (it is not included and already sold). We added it that you can see the similarity. The fine rings you see on the plates back of the poppies basket plate speak for a production date around 1906 but we do not know the exact production date. This exquisite plate is sure to impress anyone who sees it. The wide gold band with the filigree design is stunning. The plates is just beautiful. We recognized in the price that this wonderful item is not stamped and the artist therefore not known for sure. The item here is in excellent used condition. No chips, no crazing visible.
